At The End Of Years Of Storms, Afghanistan Finds A Rainbow

At the Rainbow Cultural Diversity Summer Program, it’s all about tangible experiences—whether it be cross-cultural dialogues, attending panel discussions, taking part in group work with those who might be from backgrounds different than your own, or taking in performances of ethnic dance and music.

War-torn Afghanistan Experiences Its First Summer Program

Rainbow Cultural Diversity Summer Program is the very first Summer program for Afghan school students. It was organized by five Afghan college students who have experienced such programs abroad, and was hosted by Cultural House of Afghanistan for five days.

Stories From The Safe Room

On Wednesday, August 24th, students and faculty at the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) in Kabul either tried to escape or scrambled for cover as attackers launched a deadly assault on the campus. Media outlets are reporting that the attack lasted between nine and ten hours. Maryam Danesh was on campus at the time of the attack. She describes the experience of being on campus when the attackers first struck, then being shuffled between safe rooms in an email exchange with Queens Free Press.
